Singers of all adult ages and ability are welcome and whereas there are no auditions, we aim to put on outstanding concerts for the community. All voices are welcome to join, and unlike many choirs, we have an increasing number of tenors and basses (including some female tenors) so the balance of parts is good. We are also joined by the parents choir of Wellington College and the students of Wellington for certain concerts, and we perform with orchestra regularly. ClickHERE to choose a rehearsal date from our Event Calendar, available rehearsal dates will be shown. Then click on your required date and click again on the line 'External Website related to this' to book your free taster session.
Our repertoire is varied but it does include many of the great choral works from past eras and the present day – please see HERE. Many of the pieces we sing are challenging to learn, but highly rewarding and we always support the rehearsals with sectionals and also recommend various learning aids including CDs, digital tracks, etc. to make the learning of notes easier. We aim to improve our singing and create an environment that is relaxed.
The choir is run by a committee whose members and those of our music team can be foundHERE.
If you decide to become a member, our Treasurer will give you payment details and our Membership Secretary will give you a membership application. When you join, we will provide you with a joining pack and log on details for the member area of our website. There is an annual subscription of £120 or £85 for 2 terms, £45 for 1 term. We also hire out the music and there is a fee of £3-4 per piece (usually no more than four pieces). Alternatively, you can buy your own copy. We normally perform concerts in formal wear which you will need to provide.
